Tips and tricks for your hair, information about my shop and how we can stay connected, occasional specials, and just about anything else I can think of.

How are you?

It’s a question I ask all the time – how are you? But, as we all struggle and adapt to living during a pandemic, it’s a question I find myself asking more and more – and it’s not a throwaway question anymore.

Truly, I want to know. When you come for a haircut, tell me how you are doing. Let me know where you are struggling and share some highlights (that’s a hairdresser pun!) from your week. Now more than ever, we must take care of each other.

The stories people tell.

One thing hasn’t changed – when people come to my salon, I still get to hear all their stories.

Come to find out, many of us have changed quite a few habits. I hear more about camping trips and other outdoor activities. I love that so many of us are using this time to get some sunshine and fresh air.

COVID haircuts struck a few clients. Others took the scissors to their children or husbands — and they didn’t ALL turn out poorly.

Some new habits are actually old habits. Clients and friends have shared how they are picking up old hobbies or dusted off a musical instrument they used to play. Why not? If you can’t attend a concert, play your own!

And so many new farmers out there! We are going to be gorging ourselves on food flavored with homegrown herbs, fresh baked bread and fresh fruit and vegetables.

One thing people say they aren’t doing is spending much time, effort or money on getting cleaned up. In fact, for many people, just getting into clean clothes is a challenge. Forget about makeup!

Seems like no one is in love with digital learning – from the kids to the parents. The frustration, which leads to wine time for the parents, is real, folks.

Overall, I feel so lucky to get to hear the stories people share with me. Despite living in these difficult times, we are still finding new ways to connect, wringing some fun times and laughter out of our days and daring ourselves to build new memories.

2020 hasn’t been all terrible, and for that I am very, very grateful.
